Kitchen Remodeling Ideas

This is the fourth and final article in our series covering kitchen remodeling ideas to enhance the value and appeal of your home.  Our previous articles covered kitchen cabinets, cabinet doors, cabinet hardware, open shelving, backsplashes, flooring, LED lighting and opening up the space.  Today, we will look at two more kitchen remodeling ideas to consider.

Incorporate An Island

The island is one of the most popular projects when it comes to kitchen remodeling.  Your island can be used as an additional space for food preparation. Some homeowners even add a few bar stools on one side so it can double as an eating area. Best of all, your island can be equipped with cabinets for extra storage space.

Upgrade Your Flooring

Flooring can make all the difference in a home remodeling project.  Updated flooring is especially important in the kitchen.  Newer types of flooring – including the flooring styles Houston Remodeling installs in our home remodeling projects – are much more resilient than the options of yesteryear.

When it comes to home remodeling companies, residents in Houston and surrounding areas trust Houston Remodeling. Home Remodeling Ideas That Add Appeal and Value

Our previous articles discussed some ideas to consider when planning your home renovations. We covered upgrading your kitchen cabinets, updating the doors and/or hardware on newer cabinets, incorporating open shelving, and replacing your backsplash. Part three of our series on kitchen remodeling ideas that add appeal and value to your home will discuss flooring and lighting. Let’s take a look:

Upgrade Your Flooring

Flooring can make all the difference in a home remodeling project. Updated flooring is especially important in the kitchen. Newer types of flooring – including the flooring styles Houston Remodeling installs in our home remodeling projects – are more resilient than the options of yesteryear.

Convert to LED Lighting

Many homeowners are choosing to convert to LED lighting as part of their home renovations. Whether they do this by installing LED wall lights with a switch or buying new lightbulbs for the kitchen, LED is the way forward! Not only is LED lighting more efficient, but it is much brighter than traditional lighting. Pendant lighting in particular is a popular design trend that is often incorporated into kitchen remodeling projects. There are various pendant styles that can be used for these types of projects, for instance, drum pendants are quite popular and can be used in various rooms, not just the kitchen, this could make the design flow throughout the home and create a unique style that can make the home’s interior stand out.

Open Up The Kitchen

Many homes build prior to 2005 have a closed off kitchen. Fast forward to the 2020’s and the kitchen has become the central gathering place in the home. Opening up your kitchen as part of your home remodeling project is an excellent way to transform the look and feel of your entire home.

Adding Value and Appeal to Your Home Through Kitchen Remodeling

We are continuing our series on kitchen remodeling ideas that enhance the appeal and add value to your home.  Our previous article covered updating your cabinets as part of your home remodeling project. We also discussed that if your cabinets are newer, you can still change the doors for a fresh, new look. Today, we will look at more kitchen remodeling ideas to consider.

Change Your Hardware to match your flooring

If you are not planning to replace your cabinets as part of your home remodeling project, you should at the very least change out the hardware. This can give your cabinets a newer look and complement other kitchen remodeling projects such as installing new flooring. Speaking of flooring, it might be worth learning about Gypsum Construction before you make any changes. Find flooring that matches your new hardware to modernize any kitchen.

Incorporate Open Shelving

Open shelving is trending in kitchen design.  If open shelving is a concept that appeals to you, consider incorporating it into your overall kitchen remodeling project.  Best of all, you don’t have to give up having cabinets.  Many homeowners are requesting a mix of new cabinets and open shelving, especially in home renovations that have a modern feel.

Update Your Backsplash

No kitchen remodeling project is complete without a new backsplash! We have a variety of backsplashes to suit your individual preferences, from super simple to more complex designs.
