Our previous articles discussed some ideas to consider when planning your home renovations. We covered upgrading your kitchen cabinets, updating the doors and/or hardware on newer cabinets, incorporating open shelving, and replacing your backsplash. Part three of our series on kitchen remodeling ideas that add appeal and value to your home will discuss flooring and lighting. Let’s take a look:
Upgrade Your Flooring
Flooring can make all the difference in a home remodeling project. Updated flooring is especially important in the kitchen. Newer types of flooring – including the flooring styles Houston Remodeling installs in our home remodeling projects – are more resilient than the options of yesteryear.
Convert to LED Lighting
Many homeowners are choosing to convert to LED lighting as part of their home renovations. Whether they do this by installing LED wall lights with a switch or buying new lightbulbs for the kitchen, LED is the way forward! Not only is LED lighting more efficient, but it is much brighter than traditional lighting. Pendant lighting in particular is a popular design trend that is often incorporated into kitchen remodeling projects. There are various pendant styles that can be used for these types of projects, for instance, drum pendants are quite popular and can be used in various rooms, not just the kitchen, this could make the design flow throughout the home and create a unique style that can make the home’s interior stand out.
Open Up The Kitchen
Many homes build prior to 2005 have a closed off kitchen. Fast forward to the 2020’s and the kitchen has become the central gathering place in the home. Opening up your kitchen as part of your home remodeling project is an excellent way to transform the look and feel of your entire home.
